Teacher????

It’s like a box of chocolates – you never know what your going to get.

Pattie met another couple struggling with their child’s school.  They have their child in what is suppose to be a top school but they have found that it depends a lot on the teacher.   Yes-we have come to that conclusion as well.  It does not matter the school what so ever – every school has good and crappy teachers.   Unfortunately the poor teachers seem to have the bigger impact and seem to be more abundant than the good ones.  Alex’s one teacher has sent home a report that Alex is somehow missing assignments again.   I do not know how that is even possible, as I have been helping him do every thing.

The good side of things – I got a call from his other teacher just to ask me how things where going and to let me know how Alex was doing in his class.   A teacher that definitely takes an interest in his students.  The challenge is to minimize the affect of one of the teachers and hope that the other one makes the difference.   So sending the kids to school is just a crapshoot as to what teacher you will get.

Get Melinda a Beer????

Melinda is only nine!!!!!   That’s OK its cheap beer!

Its for her head – our hair stylist is the second person to tell us that beer would help take the chlorine out of her hair.  We have had this problem for some time now.  Melinda loves to swim but cannot get the chlorine out of her hair.  We have tried every kind of shampoo imaginable as well as egg whites and now beer.   We installed a thing on the shower to remove chlorine from the water so as to not add any more chlorine to her hair.  The eggs did not seem to work and the expensive shampoos did almost nothing but the beer seems to have helped.  I just hope she does not smell of beer when she goes to school – that could cause some interesting rumors at school.

On a side note she got her earring back in and by herself.   So she is set for school with earrings in both ears and hair that no longer smells like chlorine – she only smells of beer.  Great!!!

Hole in her ear…

For her Birthday Melinda got pierced ears.  Now one of her ears is swollen and bleeding.   I am so glad that I do not have to mess with this kind of stuff.  Her biggest concern is that if we leave out the earring, to let the infection drain out and heal, the hole will heal shut and she will look funny with one earring.   The fact that it hurts and could get worse is of little concern compared to the possible embarrassment of only having one ear pierced.   I knew that one day fashion would over take common sense but I was hoping she would be in her teens before it took hold.   She went to bed sad, crying, and worried that her piercing would heal shut before morning.  I tried to relieve her stress.   I told her I could put a new hole in her ear with a nail, but for some reason this brought her no comfort.  I am working at the ski area tomorrow so Pattie is going to ski with the kids.  Melinda’s concern is what?  That’s right – her concern is how her helmet will affect her earrings.   I think I will find a couple of earrings and glue them to the outside of the helmet.  If this is a sign of things to come – I am in trouble.
