BIG GUT

ANOTHER DAY GONE! I want to have a rant about the political ads but maybe tomorrow. They aren’t going away anytime soon. For now, I will complain about my ever expanding gut. It is just not comfortable and it keeps getting bigger. I am up to 220 and it is not muscle and I am not that big boned. I have not been running or riding my bike (especially not the bike) since the operation a few weeks ago. I however have been eating more and more and not healthy food. I have put on about 10 pounds in the last 4 weeks. So tomorrow I will at least start walking again and cut back on the junk food. 185 pounds is the weight that I was most comfortable with. It has been a long time since I weighed that little but I can get there again. I can, I can, I can, victor not victim. ( and no I can not ride my bike yet)

Ugly egg

OK so I cook a really ugly egg but its better for me than the cereal with sugar on it.   For lunch I had a potato with butter and a little salt. dinner was some mystery meet out of the freezer.  We think it was a little bit of chicken and a little bit of pork.  We also had some spinach and a couple pieces of fried cheese.  

I did not get in my morning run.  weight still at 211 our little competition is this Friday

Pattie and Melinda went for a little jog about 11/2 miles.

1 1/2 miles

Yesterday I found my 1 1/2 mile route, today I ran/jogged it and I timed myself. I am very slow.  It took exactly 20 minutes to run the distance.  I can remember when I was in high school running my 3 mile run in well under 20 minutes.  This was half the distance and more time.  I knew I wasn’t fast but I didn’t think I  was that slow  :-?     I will just keep at it and see if I can get rid of this gut I have.   I will start doing some abdominal workout this week as well.   My resting heart rate was up to 80/min this morning – not to good.    Pattie took the morning off. 

It’s Sally

Sally came over this morning to go on a bike ride with Pattie (to Soda Lakes and Back).     THEY DID NOT GO SWIMMING! Wimps!!!  But It’s great that they are both having fun getting into shape. Now I need to do the same.

Need to get her weight and measurements in.

I jogged my mile this morning.  I am going to start timing myself and increasing the distance and hopefully getting faster.  I did not time myself this morning but I know that I was very slow, so I need to pick it up.

Both kids spent the morning swimming at the pool. Something that I thought would be good for them but now new studies show that chlorine vaporers from the pool can be very unhealthy.  It seems that every time I look there is on more thing that is not good for us.  I don’t want to ignore my child’s safety but at what point do you stop worrying about every possible thing that might hurt them in some way and let them have some fun.

A Little more distance

I put on a little more distance for my morning jog.  I still need to drive it and see how far but I think it is about 1 and 1/2 miles.   I did not take my heart rate this morning but my weight is still at 211.   Heavier than  most people I know that have gone through surgery to have their colon removed. I did weigh myself before I shaved – I am sure that must add something.  I have said it before but It does make me laugh thinking about the doctor worrying that I wasn’t putting on enough weight, now that I am trying to lose some. 

Good news for me – this morning during my jog I did not have that familiar little pain I get with my j. pouch when I run.  I do not know if that is common among others that run/jog after their Colectomy. 

DEAD FISH

Pattie (Panayota) is off on her bike ride.  But Sharon and Pattie did not want to get in the water with the dead fish so they didn’t get in their swimming.
